The Fall Colors
There is nothing like the colors of Fall! The best place to see the colors of fall for us, is to travel to the mountains to see all the foliage of the Aspens. Their shades of gold and yellow are spectacular! In Colorado that is pretty much what you get, maybe a little orange, but mostly greens, golds and yellow. It is very beautiful.

The Crunching of the leaves beneath your feet
I still love to hear the crunch of the leaves beneath my feet even as an adult. We live out in the county but our yard does not have a lot of leaves, they drop off while they are still green and are gone by end of September.

The Great Foods of Fall
Fall is a time for great foods, like apple pie, peach pie, peach or apple cobbler or crisp. Time for pumpkin bread and pumpkin pie.
Another great food in Pueblo, is our green chili! Pueblo is known for its Pueblo Chiles. It makes great green chili, and everyone makes it differently. We have several farms that you can go to and buy it roasted by the bushel, 1/2 bushel. We go every September and buy a bushel. You can also roast them at home in your oven, it makes your house and neighborhood smell so good. But we’ve gotten lazy as we’ve gotten older and we buy ours already roasted. Then my husband bags it up after it has cooled into packages that he uses throughout the year. Don’t forget to wear gloves as they will burn your hands. Recipe to follow later this month.

The picking of apples, peaches and visits to Pumpkin Farms
There are apple farms in Penrose, CO where you can go pick your own apples and peaches. That’s what helps make the great foods of Fall.
Travel to the mountains before the colors are all gone
Best places to go for Fall colors are Aspen, Breckenridge, Rocky Mountain National Park, San Isabel National Park, The Million Dollar Highway between Silverton and Ouray.
