Good morning everyone! This is your Trendy Travel Lady here. I thought today I would share with you a little bit about where I live. I live in Pueblo, Colorado, it’s about a 2hr drive south, from Denver. I was born and raised here most of my life. My family bought a business and we moved to Colorado Springs when I was entering 2nd grade. We lived there until my parents were divorced and my mother remarried and we moved back to Pueblo about 7 years later.

Pueblo has a lot of history. Next year in 2020 it will celebrate 150 years.

Pueblo Riverwalk

Our historic Arkansas Riverwalk is along the Arkansas River. It was inspired by the Riverwalk in San Antonio, TX. It was constructed to attract tourists and trade to Pueblo. It has a beautiful walking/running area that is well maintained. Gondola rides and paddleboats. There are restaurants along the Riverwalk and shopping on Union Ave. There are many events held there every year. Next event will be the annual fourth of July “Rollin’ On The River”, music and food vendors, arts & crafts.

The Pueblo Union Depot is a historic building that was the hub of the railway back in the 1800 – 1900’s. It now serves as an event venue. It’s a very popular place for weddings, showers, luncheons, dinners and a backdrop for photos.

If you have an extra $650,000.00 that you don’t know what to do with, the Orman Mansion is being auctioned off on June 20, 2019. It was built in 1890 and housed 2 governors there, James Orman; governor from 1900 – 1903. and Alva Adams who served as 5th, 10th and 14th governor of Colorado. He served in the years 1887-1889; 1897-1899; 1905.

So that’s a little bit about the history of Pueblo, where I was born and raised. There’s a lot more interesting history which I’ll share now and then. I love to travel, but I am always happy to come home to where my family is.

I lived in the Denver area for 3-1/2 yrs and loved it. I grew up on the ocean though and needed my waves so I moved back east but it was one of my favorite cities for sure. I only visited Pueblo once but really enjoyed it.

I’m glad you enjoyed Pueblo the one time you were here. I love Denver and Colorado Springs. I like to shop there. I wish I lived by the water though.
