Last September our son turned 40 yrs. old. Yep! He’s now older than me, after all, I’m only 29 you know! LOL!! Not really. My son decided he wanted to celebrate this milestone birthday in Las Vegas! So my husband and I and my sister met he and his wife out there for his birthday. We were also celebrating my husband’s birthday too! My husband and son have always celebrated together when our son lived at home, his birthday is September 18, and my husband’s is September 20.

We had a great time! My sister wanted to go to the Michael Jackson show, nobody else wanted to go with us, so it was just me and her. That was one of the best Vegas shows I have ever been too. We had second row seats, and the music and show was just amazing!
We stayed at the Paris hotel, and the cafe inside the Paris has amazing food. We ordered blueberry pancakes for breakfast and they were so light and fluffy, with blueberry butter. They were wonderful.
I wasn’t sure I was going to like the big round pool, but once you got in the water you realized that you had lots of room to swim. Everyone wasn’t on top of each other.
We checked out Wahlburgers, that was fun and the hamburgers were really good.
The night of our son’s birthday, and my husband’s we went to the “Capo’s Speakeasy,”
This is a “Chicago Mob-themed” Italian restaurant with a secret entrance. You had to have a password to get inside, which they text to you once you make reservations. Very fun experience, service was great and so was the food!
As always, the time went way too fast. We only stayed 3 nights and then it was time to go home again. Well goodbye for now, we’ll be back soon.

What a great place to celebrate a birthday!
Fun birthday! We always stay at Caesar’s Palace but I’ve been curious about Paris Hotel. The French cafe there is yummy. We lived in Chi for a few years, the Capo’s Speakeasy is a pace to check out next time we’re there, thanks for the tip
What a great birthday and family getaway. Fun idea for a restaurant – speakeasy secret entrance. Las Vegas never dissappoints, unless of course you loose a lot of money at the casinos.
Fun! Vegas is always a great time. We just saw One last month and all liked it WAY more than we thought we would.
I also love the idea of having to use a secret password to get into the Speakeasy restaurant. What a clever marketing idea! Sounds like you had as much fun as your son did celebrating!
What a fun birthday! Capo’s sounds like a fun place to eat. Good info about the Michael Jackson show!
Vegas has some amazing shows! Looks like you had a fabulous birthday!
What a fun way to celebrate your son’s 40th birthday. I turned 40 this year and I’ve never been to Vegas. Maybe this is the year. I enjoyed hearing about your trip and your suggestions. Thanks for sharing!

We love Vegas! Sounds like you had a great time. What a great place to celebrate a birthday!
What a fun trip! I live pretty close and I have never seen a show! That sounds like a cool one to see!
What a great birthday trip! I have only been on business. Time to head back!
Thanks for the recommendation at Capo’s Speakeasy! It’s not very often you see those around. Glad your son had a great 40th Birthday!
How fun to celebrate in Vegas with your family!
The French really know how to make their breakfasts! I loved the pastries I had there too. But that Capo’s sounds like a really fun and unique experience!
Happy birthday!! Looks like you had a great time celebrating.
What special memories you were able to make together! Looks like a great time.
What an awesome way to spend your birthday. I’m glad I have another mom out there that is 29! lol
Sounds so fun, glad you had that chance with your family to celebrate two birthdays and for a girl night out was fun, too.
I’ve only spent one night in Las Vegas the summer I flew in to climb Mt. Whitney in California. It looks like I missed a lot and need to go back!
