Thursday, June 27, 2019, 2 of my granddaughters and I set off to Water World! The ultimate place to cool off in Colorado! Water World is a giant water park located in Thornton, Colorado. It is about a 2 hour drive from where we live in Pueblo, CO.
The park covers 64 acres and has 50+ water rides. We love Water World! We usually go there every summer, most times every other summer! We didn’t make it last summer!
In order to have fun, you should prepare a little before you go! The high altitude of Denver mixed with high summer temperatures can dehydrate you before you know it! So this nurse suggests you hydrate the day before and during your visit to Water World! Gatorade and water are what you need!
We splurged a little this year, we’re tired of being burned, so we rented 2 bungalows by Thunder Bay. The bungalow includes 2 loungers under each tent, so we had to rent 2, since there were 3 of us. Good decision on our part! It was hot!
We love Thunder Bay, it’s a giant wave pool, the waves start about every 10 min. If you’re not ready the waves will knock you over! Or if you are in a tube, the waves push you back to shore! Careful! You may take some innocent bystanders out with you.
Another place we love is the Lazy River. I’m glad I rented the tubes, we didn’t have to stand in line to wait for people to get out. Which is good because they weren’t getting out!
We raced on the downhill racer ride, and we journeyed to the Center of the Earth!
You can spend all day there and not go on all the rides. Which we did.
You can pack a picnic lunch, or there are plenty of food vendors.
MY suggestion is at least take an ice chest filled with ice and lots of water and Gatorade! You’re gonna need it!
MOST OF ALL BE SAFE AND HAVE FUN!!!
P.S. DON’T FORGET THE SUNSCREEN!
